It's taken us rather a long time to tell our story. Over 300 years in fact. During which time we've been rather busy providing breakfast oats for the nation. We're millers you see. Always have been, and dare we suggest always will be. Some call us the sleeping giant of the cereal market. But we prefer sleeping beauty!
Listen to our story

We first put down roots in South Cheshire in 1675. And guess what? 300 years later we are still in South Cheshire and still milling oats! As we're not really the 'Marketing types', we put our success down to the strong rooted relationships we hold with our local farmers. Some of whom have been supplying us with oats for years, others, as you might expect, for generations.

You see. We don't need marketing men to tell us that oats are good, healthy food or, ahem, as we're supposed to say nowadays, a 'Power Food'. No. We're firmly rooted to our beliefs that good old fashioned, honest milling will make a fabulous modern day breakfast for families up and down the country today.

William Lea started milling oats way back in 1675, and since then the in-depth knowledge of how to mill the perfect oats has been passed down through the generations from father to son. Over the last 300 years, The Lea's have seen a lot of change, and we wouldn't still be here today if we didn't change with the times.

It might be the packaging. It could be the technology. But at the end of the day it’s what goes into the packet that we care about most. We love what we make. And we care passionately about everything we do. And by combining our time-honoured skills with modern technology we will continue to pioneer new ways of producing the best, tastiest oats well into the future. So there you have it, a brief insight into the amazing story of how we got to where we are today. And who knows, maybe in 300 years time we might be ready to write the sequel!

We make a wide range of oats and cereals. You can find out more about them here. They can be found at the stores of Asda, Morrison, Sainsbury, Tesco, Booths, co-op and many independent retail stores. You can call their customer services agents to check if your nearest store stocks our products, and you can find their details here. You can also buy them online here.
